We rented a UTV to go wheeling on some of the OHV trails. Passed by this spot on the way to check out a loop used by the rally. Came by again less than an hour later and found this Bronco (EDIT: nope, it’s a Scout). Skid marks in the dirt looked like he tried to come off the pavement onto the dirt road at speed and looped it into the ditch. It was a convertible Bronco and the driver’s corner of the windshield was crushed pretty heavily. No driver and no blood though, so hopefully he wasn’t too banged up when he rolled it.
The UTV and the trails were awesome though.

“Yup, we’re fucked, Jim”
I really hope that’s a line in the next Star Trek.

I was thoroughly impressed, it’s an incredible area. I’ll be sharing the onboards here when I have them up so you can see the roads. I also snapped this bad photo of the area’s OHV trail map. UTVs and off road vehicles are allowed on all county (green) roads.
Added bonus, it’s less than an hour from Dinosaur National Monument, which is another must visit.

ah, okay, that explains it. There is a really cool multiday route I’ve been wanting to do there and this looks like it.

What gen Bronco is that? It looks like an International Scout to me.

Maybe not off your radar after all then. Also, I realized my last comment wasn’t clear, OHVs are allowed on all the green roads, and at least most of the purple roads. Some of those will be too narrow/rough for a full size vehicle though.

At this angle you get the feeling that that Scout has fantastic ground clearance. To bad it’s got rolled they are becoming very rare.

It could be- hard to tell, I’ll have to compare the two chassis.

I think you’re right. I don’t know Broncos or Scouts all that well
